All car rentals in Stockport are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement that you will receive upon booking confirmation or at the time of vehicle collection. This document outlines the specific terms, conditions, insurance information, fees, and your obligations for the rental period. In the event of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Requirements for Vehicle Rental
- To hire a vehicle in Stockport, you must be at least 21 years of age, noting that age restrictions may differ by vehicle type, with possible extra charges for drivers under 25. A valid, full driving licence is required, along with valid identification and proof of address. You will also need to provide payment details and a security deposit, as well as meet any other criteria outlined in the Rental Agreement.
3. Reservation and Payment
- Reservations can be made via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Stockport office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. Full payment and a security deposit are generally required upon vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, ensuring secure transactions through trusted payment processors.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- Upon collecting your vehicle in Stockport, it is important to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage right away. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed to document the state of the vehicle. Prohibited Activities
Prohibited Uses of Rental Vehicle
- The vehicle must not be used for illegal activities or purposes. This includes racing, rallying, off-roading, or any other dangerous driving practices. Transporting hazardous materials is prohibited. Sub-letting the vehicle or allowing unauthorized drivers is not allowed. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. Additionally, the vehicle should only be used as intended, respecting passenger and weight limits. Driving beyond the agreed geographical boundaries without authorization is also prohibited.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.
Limitation of Liability in Stockport
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Stockport is not responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claim is capped at the total amount paid for your rental in the previous 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liabilities arising from negligence resulting in death or personal injury, or from fraudulent activities.
